Sossusvlei lodge is located at
Sesriem, a gate to Sossusvlei and is the most convenient stop over before visit
to the park.
The lodge can be reached with any type of car y road or by air and is a perfect base for exploring the park or for balloon trips in the area.
Directions:
From Windhoek: take main road
B1 going south, and turn right into the road C24 after Rehoboth. In about 36 km
turn into the road 1261 going through Reemhoogte Pass.
Later you join road C14 and after Solitaire petrol station you turn into C36
road. Last turn is into the road 826 going to Sesriem. The turn-off is signposted (road to
Sesriem/Sossusvlei). The entrance to the lodge is on the right hand
side just before the park's gate.

Association of Namibia, 90 beds are available in the 45 rooms (luxury
tents), swimming pool, 4x4 tours to Namib Naukluft park, credit cards are
accepted, restaurant, landing strip 4 km from the lodge, 4x4 car rental
facilities, balloon trips, nature drives to
Sossusvlei, Dead Vlei and Sesriem
Canyon, bird watching, view from the lodge, tower with a telescope and
astronomy information.
BUSH DINNER
A full buffet dinner is set-up amidst breathtaking nature, surrounded by red granite boulders resembling a giants playground. A variety of meat dishes is prepared over the coals while waiters fill up the glasses with beverages of
your choice from the bar stock supplied.
The atmosphere is complete with soft light of torches and candles while dining under the true Namibian skies.
Minimum: minimum of 10 participants (rates for less than 10 participants are on request)
Excluding: The rate excludes the transfer, which is currently done by Sossusvlei 4x4
rentals.
HONEYMOON / ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL
For that unforgettable honeymoon or special anniversary you are dreaming of we have just the right touch!
The special comprises of 2 nights at the published DB&B rate, but we include the following at absolutely no additional cost:
sparkling wine on ice in the room
snack platter in the room
nature drive
one special lunch including sparkling wine (and special it is at a venue of unparalleled beauty)
These must be booked in advance, separately and not as part of a group tour.
WEDDINGS
For that close to nature wedding, the ceremony can be arranged in the dunes, in absolute pristine nature somewhere on
45000 hectare property or at the lodge itself.
Any of the services can form part of this dream come true, including the Bush Dinner and perhaps for the bridal couple an overnight 'back-to-nature' yet in style, under the star studded skies!
The experience can be rounded off with an early morning hot air balloon ride or a flight over this magnificent area.
To enable us to put together every individual dream, we require full details and a budget estimate.
PICNIC BASKETS
For guests staying two nights we are happy to supply a basic picnic basket on the first morning at
absolutely no cost.
In this basket you will find freshly baked rusks, coffee, tea, cups and saucers and a table cloth.
Guests who leave very early and do not have breakfast at the lodge we can include a packed breakfast
or even breakfast platters.
This will include fruit, yogurt, cereal, bread and butter, cold cuts and the selection mentioned above plus
the necessary crockery and cutlery.
Again this is for free for guests not having breakfast at the lodge.
Another version of the picnic basket can be full catered breakfast at the vlei or in pristine nature on our property. At the vlei, the lodge does not supply tables and chairs for the clients but will make use of equipment already there.
History:
The lodge was officially opened on 14 October 1994 by President Sam Nujoma. The lodge is situated on the 44 000 ha reserve on the boarder with Namib Naukluft park.
Airfield:
Located 4 km from the lodge. Transfers
to/from the landing strip can be organised.

Children:
One infant and one child under the age of 12 years shall be accommodated free of
charge if accompanying and sharing a room with two full paying adults (subject
to availability) and subject to the payment of the applicable breakfast and
dinner rates. A baby cot is available on request for infants.
Meal plan: 0-4 years: no cost
5-11 years: half of meal cost
Family accommodation:
Family units are available, comprising two separate bedrooms sharing a common
bathroom. Any one, two, three or four persons may share a family unit at the
standard twin or single room rates as applicable if children are older than 18
years. No additional beds can be accommodated in the family units, with the
exception of a baby cot.
Notes:
Special meals can be booked
in advance. Rates are subject to change without prior notice should tax be
increased or Government levies introduced. Rates include Value Added Tax, dinner
and
breakfast.
Deposit: first night's accommodation must be paid in full.
Departures strictly by 10 o'clock.
