Leopard Lodge Okahandja |
German soldiers erected a fort at Windhoek and, two
years later, a provisional landing pier at Swakopmund. This colonial force,
which consisted of only 23 men originally, performed both military and
administrative functions.
1915: Germany ceases to be a colonial power. The colonial forces and
German settlers have to leave the country. Many of them return after the end
of World War I.
1928: Former members of the colonial forces erect the main building of
what is to become Leopard Lodge.
2001: For many years, Leopard Lodge has been a hunting and guest farm
in German ownership. To individual visitors as well as to families, the Lodge
offers restful holidays and exciting adventures, great hunting and eventful
photo stalks.
Enjoy the shade of old palm trees in the exotically designed gardens. The
centre of Leopard Lodge is the old Southwester House, a stone construction in
the traditional style surrounded by smaller lodges. For younger guests,
non-hunting travel companions and those simply on the lookout for a day of
relaxation, Leopard Lodge offers a variety of individual leisure activities.
Choose between trips to Windhoek, Swakopmund, the Namib or the Kalahari
desert; visit the Etosha National Park or any of the other beautiful spots of
Namibia. All trips can be organised and accompanied by the Leopard Lodge team
at your request.
